Amarie Carnett

Amarie Carnett, PhD, BCBA-D is the acting chair of the Society of Behaviour Analysis Aotearoa New Zealand. Her professional interests include upholding ethical practice in the field of behaviour analysis, behavioural assessment and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and verbal behaviour. She has over 40 published journal articles and her work has been cited over 1,000 times. She is the Director of the Behaviour Analysis programme and Senior Lecturer at the University of Waikato. Prior to working as a university faculty, Dr. Carnett worked as a special education teacher, behaviour specialist, and human rights advocate.

Rebecca Sharp, Treasurer

Sarah Leadley, PhD, BCBA & Registered Psychologist is the Secretary for the Society of Behaviour Analysis  Aotearoa New Zealand.  For over 14 years, she has provided behavioural services in homes and schools for children and young people with and without disabilities. Her research interests currently focus on interventions for tamariki with feeding difficulties, particularly those with tube dependency.  Sarah is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland, within the Behaviour and Learning Programme.  In addition to research, her role involves training students who are aiming to become psychologists and behaviour analysts.   Sarah is also a mum to two young children who keep her super busy!

Angelika Anderson, Co-chair

Angelika Anderson, PhD, BCBA-D is the co-chair of the organization. Her professional interests include promoting evidence-based practices and inclusion. Her research has a focus on education and interventions for individuals with disabilities that are suited to low-resource environments. She has also been involved in the professional training of psychologists and behaviour analysts for many years. She has over 60 published articles in peer-reviewed journals as well as a book and book chapters. Angelika was involved in the development of the first autism guidelines in New Zealand, the development of first curriculum for RTLB (Resource teachers Learning and Behaviour), and she served on the BACB Board of Directors for six years. In a previous position at Monash University in Australia she was responsible for the establishment of the first Verified Course Sequence (VCS; a course for training Board Certified Behaviour Analysts) in Australia.
